Nordoff Robbins Carol Service
Our annual Christmas Carol Service is always one of the most popular events in our fundraising calendar, bringing together family, friends and supporters in a celebration of music at a special time of year.
This year's event, which was generously sponsored by Coutts took place in the beautiful St Luke’s Church on Wednesday 14th December and was dedicated to Willie Robertson, founding supporter of Nordoff Robbins.
It was a very special evening, featuring a traditional candlelit Christmas service, wonderful music and celebrity readings. Our guests were also treated to mulled wine and mince pies outside the church afterwards.
Music is key and each year we invite one or two stars to join us and perform a couple of their own songs in this intimate and exclusive setting. This year, we were delighted to welcome the beautiful singer songwriter Eliza Doolitte who performed a lovely rendition of 'Santa Baby' and also the American tenor, Noah Stewart who wowed the congregation with 'Deep River' and 'Ave Maria'.
In the past we have been treated to some wonderful performances from Annie Lennox, Robbie Williams, Martine McCutcheon, Katherine Jenkins, Will Young, Emma Bunton, Sugababes, Joss Stone, Beverley Knight, Katie Melua, Rhydian, Alexandra Burke, The Wanted and Il Divo.
We were also treated to some wonderful readings from some talented stars - Bill Nighy, Jonathan Pryce, Anton du Beke, Freddie Fox, Juliet Stevenson and Minnie Driver. They joined a very prestigious group of Nordoff Robbins Carol Service readers which in past years have included Rosamund Pike, Jack Whitehall, Dominic West, Celia Imrie, Sienna Miller, Charles Dance, Rupert Everett, Catherine Tate, Rufus Sewell, Sir Trevor McDonald, Simon Pegg and Tara Fitzgerald.
A huge thank you to the organising committee, our sponsors Coutts, our celebrity readers and performers and all of our guests for helping to make the evening so special. To be the first to hear about the 2012 Carol Service, please email us.
