Music Industry Trusts Award
None other than Jools Holland, piano player, big band leader, TV presenter, former punk pop-star, deputy Lieutentant of Kent, OBE and undoubted national treasure, was honoured with the 20th Music Industry Trusts Award. This prestigious Award was presented to Jools Holland by his friend from 'The Tube' days, Jennifer Saunders, and recognises his outstanding contribution to music and music broadcasting, spanning over three decades.
The star studded event took place on Monday 7th November at The Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane and included a champagne reception, 3-course dinner, the Award presentation and a fine performance from Jools himself. He was accompanied on stage by his Big Band and guests were also treated to some special performances from Paul Weller, Rumer and Ruby Turner.
In a twist to the evenings procedings, none other than David Munns, Chairman of the Nordoff Robbins Board of Governors and also the Music Industry Trusts Award, was presented with a surprise Award for his services to the music industry. Hugely well deserved!
Nordoff Robbins is extremely grateful to be one of two charitable beneficiaries from the Trusts and this year's event meant that over £4million has been raised through table sales, sponsorship opportunities, pledges and auctions on the night.
