Why support us
We all react to music. Music has the power to reach us, touch us and make us feel different. For some people, music is the only way they can show emotion, communicate and engage with others.
The many thousands of people we help suffer from a range of conditions such as autism, dementia and mental health problems, but all have one uniting factor - music dramatically improves their quality of life.
At Nordoff Robbins, we use music to give individuals the ability and confidence to express themselves, engage with others and communicate where they may have not been able to do so previously. The results can have a profound impact on individuals, their families and all those around them. We…

Your support helps children like Mia
At 3 years old Mia had many health and developmental problems, she couldn’t walk independently and spoke only twelve words. She was afraid of other children coming too close and of noise. Her future looked grim. In individual and group music therapy, Mia blossomed. “Music party”, as she called it, gave her a way to connect with others through the joy of making music. She became animated and confident and was soon walking independently, speaking in sentences, talking to other children and expressing affection to her family for the first time.
Mia’s mum says: “Astonishing changes have taken place. We have seen Mia’s world open up, as have my husband’s and mine. Music therapy has the power to change lives.”
£25 pays for 30 minutes of life-transforming music therapy for a child like Mia.
