Harriet Crawford
Deputy Director of Music Services
Harriet Crawford studied clarinet and piano performance at the Guildhall School of Music and then worked for several years in London as a musician and music teacher before training with Nordoff Robbins, qualifying in 2002. After training she worked as a music therapist with children in mainstream and special schools and also with adults in community and in-patient mental health settings. Until the end of 2009 she was Head Music Therapist, Nordoff Robbins South East. In her current role as Deputy Director of Music Services for Nordoff Robbins, Harriet has responsibility for aspects of running the national music therapy services.
As a parent, she sees music work its magic after a stressful day – to relax, to energise and to bond the family together. As a practitioner and manager Harriet is passionate about the way Nordoff Robbins music therapy can help and inspire people to be their most courageous and creative selves.
