Jo Carter
Director of Fundraising and Communications
Jo has worked as a fundraiser within the third sector for over 16 years in both large and medium sized organisations. Before joining Nordoff Robbins in 2009, Jo was Head of National Events at NSPCC. During her time in the sector, Jo has worked across a wide range of fundraising disciplines including corporate, events, community, direct donor marketing and major giving.
Jo believes strongly that a fundraiser’s role is to provide a link between donors and the services that the donor’s support enables the organisation to deliver and ultimately, such as the case with Nordoff Robbins, the people whose lives are transformed through this support. Jo is passionate about all our supporters and has never ceased to be overwhelmed by the generosity of individuals, companies and trusts whose contributions genuinely make a huge difference.
Nordoff Robbins does not receive any statutory funding. The small fundraising team at Nordoff Robbins has to raise £3 million annually, which it does largely through its events programme. Jo and the team are working to develop new income streams which will enable expansion of our work, demand for which is ever increasing.
