Simon Procter
MMT Programme Director
Simon Procter trained at the Nordoff Robbins London Centre from 1995 to 1997. He has worked as a music therapist in schools, hospitals, social service day centres and community mental health settings. He now works as a music therapist within a non-medical mental health resource centre for adults in London. From 2000 to 2007 Simon was Research Assistant at the Nordoff Robbins London Centre and in this capacity encouraged and supported the development of research within the Centre. In 2007 he was appointed Director of the Nordoff Robbins Master of Music Therapy training programme, a post he combines with his continuing music therapy work in adult mental health and active research activity.
A former editor of the British Journal of Music Therapy, he is currently pursuing doctoral research within the Sociology Department of the University of Exeter . He is passionate about the practical craft of music therapy and making the benefits that music has to offer as widely available as possible.
