Chalfont Lodge Nursing Care Centre, Chalfont St. Peter, Buckinghamshire
Chalfont Lodge is a Barchester Care Home offering residential nursing care for people with dementia, for physically frail people, and for people with neurological disabilities. Stuart Wood, who runs the Barchester Nordoff-Robbins Initiative is the music therapist here. He works with individuals and with groups of residents, with families, carers, staff and local musicians, helping to create a vibrant musical life for the whole community.
MacIntyre School Wingrave, Wingrave, Buckinghamshire
The MacIntyre School in Wingrave, Buckinghamshire, is a 52-week per year residential school for children over 11 years old who have severe communication and/or learning difficulties. Bethan Shrubsole is the music therapist, one day a week. She runs individual sessions for those children who require extra one-to-one attention in areas such as communication, socialising and encouraging personal choice and creativity.
We are very pleased in the Central East to be able to offer a limited Music Therapy Service for privately referred individuals and groups. The music therapist is able to travel and will provide weekly music therapy sessions for adults and children referred for a variety of reasons.
