CPD for Allied Health Professionals

These workshops are designed for professionals in their respective fields. No previous musical training is required.

We provide skills development workshops for Allied Health Professionals who use music as part of their work. This includes e.g. physiotherapists using music in movement/exercise sessions, or speech and language therapists using songs and singing as part of a treatment approach with children or adults, etc. You can book a workshop for members of your staff, individually tailored and at a venue convenient for you. Sample workshops are described below.

Music in Physiotherapy for physically disabled Clients
Drawing on the experience of joint music therapy/physiotherapy groups with multiply disabled adults, this workshop will present key principles in choosing and using music (live or recorded) in physiotherapy with adults or children with limited mobility.

Music in Speech and Language Therapy with learning disabled Clients
This workshop introduces basic concepts of music therapy in order to develop specific musical skills relevant to speech and language therapy with pre-verbal and learning disabled clients (adults and children). The workshop is led by an experienced music therapist and qualified speech and language therapist.
