MPhil/PhD Programme in Music Therapy

MPhil/PhD Programme in Music, Health, Society

The Nordoff Robbins Education Department is delighted to announce the new the MPhil/PhD in Music, Health, Society. Together with the existing MPhil/PhD in Music Therapy, the two-track MPhil/PhD programme, approved by City University in June 2009, offers broader access to interested applicants, with correspondingly broader exit title routes.

As from September 2009, expressions of interest are invited from applicants from the UK, EU and Abroad, who have a Masters level qualification (or equivalent), in Music Therapy, Music, Health, Education, Psychology and Sociology. Expressions of interest are equally encouraged from practitioners in music therapy, music education, music psychology, community music and music and health (in the broadest sense).

The part-time research programme provides support and guidance in doctoral level research, to enable students living in the UK or abroad, to develop doctoral research that will contribute to disciplinary knowledge and to the development of practices both in the UK and internationally.

The programme base is the Nordoff Robbins London Centre where group doctoral seminars for registered students and potential applicants are offered regularly.
