Alfie Boe, our official Ambassador, launches Nordoff Robbins Christmas Appeal 2011
Alfie Boe the sensational opera tenor has announced today that he has taken on a role as an official ambassador for Nordoff Robbins.
Alfie is enjoying huge success this year with his two top ten albums 'Bring Him Home' and "Alfie" and is famous for his roles at Opera Houses around the world and as Jean Valjean, in Les Miserables. As part of his role he will be helping to launch the Nordoff Robbins 2011 Christmas appeal.
This Christmas we aim to raise £100,000 to help some of the UK's most vulnerable and isolated children and adults. With a UK wide campaign launching today, we are asking supporters to donate every pound they can in these tough times, to fund 50,000 music therapy sessions in 2012
It is because of Alfie Boe's passion for music and his own recognition of the unique power that music has in transforming lives that he has chosen to lend his support to start the Nordoff Robbins Christmas Campaign by donating £1.00 and fronting the campaign today.
Alfie Boe says: "I am delighted to start the Christmas Appeal this year as official Ambassador for Nordoff Robbins. I have witnessed first hand how music therapy helps people in many different ways, for some it has physical benefits, for others emotional or social ones. It helps people feel more motivated, social and self-confident. It gives people hope when times are more challenging. Nordoff Robbins already has 60 therapists providing music therapy services to 96 organisations across the UK, amounting to over 50,000 music therapy sessions every year which are delivered in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, care homes and day centres too. They need everyone to help raise funds to continue their life changing work by transforming lives, so every single penny counts.Donate what you can today."
