London Music Mapp launches Nordoff Robbins music quiz

Posted on 30th November 2011

London Music Mapp, the travel guide for music lovers, has launched a Nordoff Robbins music quiz on their App, helping to raise awareness of our work transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults through music therapy.

London Music MappThe London Music Mapp App was launched earlier this year as a travel guide for all those who know and love music and provides over five hundred searchable music specific locations across London for music lovers to experience. It offers unique locations, info about venues and record shops, videos, photos, facts and maps about London's rich musical heritage, vibrant musical present and unique musical geography. You can even find out where legendary artists like Hendrix, The Beatles and the Stones played live, lived and recorded and where today's artists continue to do so.

This month, the App has also launched a new Nordoff Robbins Music Quiz (located in the 'Fun' section), which aims to engage users with the work of Nordoff Robbins and interesting facts from the world of music. Each month, entrants will be in with a chance of winning £10 of iTunes vouchers!

The London Music Mapp is currently only available on Apple products and only in English, however this will be expanded to Spanish and other languages in 2012.

Julian Huntly Co Founder, London Music Mapp says "I am really happy we can support the wonderful work of Nordoff Robbins this Christmas. My son received music therapy some years ago from Nordoff Robbins and the effect was amazing, it really works and it opened up a new world for him. Nordoff Robbins helped not just my son, but the whole family."

Jo Carter, Director of Fundraising and Communications for Nordoff Robbins says "We are delighted to have London Music Mapp on board with such an innovative free downloadable App which is unique and engaging. Music therapy helps people with a whole variety of conditions in many different ways. For some it has physical benefits, for others emotional or social ones. Music helps people feel more motivated and self-confident. It gives people hope when times are more challenging. Working with London Music Mapp is a great move for us as it will help us to raise awareness of the unique power of music which can quite literally transform lives."
