Christmas Carol Service

The 12th Nordoff-Robbins Carol Service at St Luke’s Church, Chelsea on Tuesday 16 December 2008 was once again a sumptuous feast of music and readings to welcome in Christmas with a range of fantastic contributions from our celebrity supporters, generously sponsored by Cheviot Asset Management. There were readings from Gemma Arterton, Simon Pegg, Gina McKee, Richard E Grant, Olivia Coleman and Rory Bremner. ESCALA, the gorgeous electric string quartet who caused a sensation in the final of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent 2008, played two movements from Corelli’s Christmas Concerto, while X Factor star Rhydian appeared to sing his cover hit The Impossible Dream as well as Bernstein’s Somewhere. With contributions from The Dragon School choir who accompanied Rhydian, as well as The BRIT School’s music department, the evening was a thrilling experience for all present, and raised over £88,000 for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.

We would like to thank all the performers for their participation, Cheviot Asset Management for its generous sponsorship of the event, and all who turned out to support Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.

Not forgetting all of you who attended and made it such a fantastic night.
