At Nordoff Robbins, we rely on the generosity and support of people like you to make our life changing music therapy available to as many people as possible. That is why we want to be completely transparent about why we collect and hold your personal details when you support us and how we will use them.

When we will get in touch

When you give us your personal details - for example, when you make a donation, sign up to receive our email newsletter or buy a ticket to one of our events - you may receive follow up information from us, including information on the incredible work your support is making possible.

If you have provided us with consent to use your details for marketing purposes, then we may also contact you about our work, fundraising activities and appeals, our Get Loud Awareness campaign and other ways to support us. Where you consent to us sending you marketing information, you have a right to tell us to stop contacting you at any time.

You, our supporters, are hugely valued by Nordoff Robbins. We always act on your instructions and we aim to put you in control of your relationship with us. Our aim is to communicate with you in a way that makes you want to stay involved with us for as long as possible, as you see the value and impact of your support.

Where we collect information about you from

We collect information in the following ways:

  • When you give it to us DIRECTLY

You may give us your details when you make a donation, sign up to receive our email newsletter or buy a ticket to one of our events

  • When you give it to us INDIRECTLY

Your information may be shared with us by independent event organisers, for example fundraising sites like Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving.  These independent third parties will only do so when you have indicated that you wish to support Nordoff Robbins and with your consent. You should check their Privacy Policy when you provide your information to understand fully how they will process your data.

We will not share your data for others' marketing purposes

Please be assured that you will not receive offers from other companies or organisations as a result of giving your details to us. Nordoff Robbins won't sell, give or trade personal information to other companies

How to stop or change how we communicate with you

If at any time you wish to stop or change how we communicate with you, ask us to remove you from our records or to update the information we hold, please do get in touch, using one of the following options:

What details we ask for, why and how we use it

With your consent, we will contact you to let you know about the progress we are making and to ask for donations or other support.  

There are minimum levels of information we need to obtain from you for different purposes:

Supporters

We always ask for your name and title so we know how to talk to you. We also need to know how to contact you which is why we will ask for your email address and contact preferences. We may also ask for your house number and postcode so that we hold a valid postal address for you.

We will mainly use your data to:

  • Provide you with the information you asked for
  • Administer your donation or support your fundraising, including processing gift aid
  • Keep a record of your relationship with us
  • Ensure we know how you prefer to be contacted
  • Understand how we can improve our campaigns or information.

Service users

We provide music therapy to individuals in our own centres and in partnerships across the country. We collect personal data in order to provide those services. This information is managed separately from other data provided to the charity.

The music therapist that you work with will need to know some information about you so that we can be sure they are delivering our service safely and appropriately. Our administrator and the service managers also need access to this data to make sure our music therapy service runs efficiently and effectively.

We use your personal data to:

  • help you decide which services are suitable for you such as an individual session or group work
  • help us to work with you to provide the services you receive
  • make sure we have up to date contact details for you
  • make sure the services you receive are safe and effective
  • work effectively with others who also provide care and support in your life.

Is my personal data kept securely?

Nordoff Robbins has secure record keeping systems which can only be accessed by authorised people within the organisation.

Changes to this policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time.  If we make any significant changes in the way we treat your personal information we will make this clear on this Website.

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, Nordoff Robbins is registered with the Information Commissioner with number Z6045613.
