“Nordoff Robbins has amazing therapists whose skills and talents are so impressive. They fit in so well with the school and soon become part of the team. But what is equally impressive is their ability to get the most out of each student, helping them achieve their utmost potential.”
Lorraine Warmer, Head Teacher at Park Lane School
Our national network of music services is provided by our regional teams of music therapists who work across the UK.
All our music therapists are registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and we’re able to tailor the service to the needs of the individuals and the ethos of your organisation. We’re proud to work in partnership with a wide range of organisations including schools, hospitals, prisons, care homes and day centres.
How does the partnership work?
A music therapist employed by Nordoff Robbins will join your team for an agreed period each week (usually one day minimum) with an agreed funding arrangement. They will be embedded within your team and receive regular management support, training and music therapy supervision from their Nordoff Robbins regional manager.
Before the project begins, we’ll arrange a visit to discuss how music therapy can meet the needs of your clients/ service users and organisation as a whole. This will then allow us to develop a tailor-made service specific to you.
Within the Nordoff Robbins approach to music therapy, we focus on a range of possible formats which could consist of individual and small and large group sessions involving staff, families and carers (where appropriate).
Our therapists aim to enhance the whole musical life of your organisation, taking part in musical events and facilitating a range of music groups which enable them to have broader impact on the wellbeing of the people around them. They also actively engage with collaborative work with other staff and offer staff training and workshops where requested.
Most of our services are delivered for at least one day per week and normally run for 12 months at a time. We also offer pilot projects for you to find out whether our service meets your needs. These can run for shorter periods of at least three months.
