A Visit From Emeli Sandé and Alexander Armstrong 21st June 2017 Supporters “I’ve been shown several films that Nordoff Robbins are doing and I found that I couldn’t watch any of them without welling up. They’re such moving stories.” Alexander Armstrong We were lucky enough to be visited by Nordoff Robbins ambassador Emeli Sandé, as well as television presenter and singer Alexander Armstrong. Emeli came along to see our work in a dedicated neurorehabilitation centre, to find out how music therapy can help those who are in recovery. It was great to give her an introduction to such an important part of our work, and to show how music therapy benefitted people in the group. Alexander came to our new music therapy centre to learn a bit more about music therapy – how it works, and how it helps people. He spoke with our Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, Jo Carter, who showed him some videos of our work in action so he could see some of the incredible people we’ve helped over the years. Then he saw a music therapy session for himself, joining Genesis and music therapist Joe – an experience he described afterwards as “one of the happiest half hours of my life”. We can’t put it into words any better than that, so here’s a wonderful video of Alexander’s visit.
