‘Are You Alright?’ – A New Type of Concert 26th April 2017 A supporter from the wonderful British and Irish Institute of Modern Music, Baptiste Henry, got in touch with us with an ambitious project. He thinks the nights where bands plug-in, play and leave the stage have followed the same ritual for 50 years. His goal? To revolutionise the way we watch music. Well, with an offer like that, how could we say no? This ambitious project, called ‘Are You Alright?’, is set to take place inside All Saints Church, Fulham – one of west London’s most beautiful churches. They’ll be offering soul and folk music inside of the church, calling on different senses in order to go ‘beyond music’. The musicians will use the specific acoustic of a church in order to create a beautiful soundscape. Two of our music therapists, Kate Williams & Dave Thorpe, will be performing some of their own music too, a sample of which you can hear here. Dave will also be discussing how music therapy supports well-being and showing some of our work in this area. ‘Are You Alright?’ – A Journey Through Music and the Mind Thursday 18 May. Doors open at 6.30pm. Tickets: £5. Available via Eventbrite – with half the price coming to support Nordoff Robbins.
