7th April 2022 Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust Award £4k for Music Therapy in Scotland A huge thank you to the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust for awarding £4,000 to support music therapy at Erskine Care Home in Anniesland in the West of Scotland. News We are delighted to announce that we have received £4,000 of grant funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to support music therapy at Erskine Care Home in Anniesland in the West of Scotland. The funding will help us to deliver one day per week of music therapy from March 2022 to February 2023. The music therapy sessions will be for residents who are armed forces veterans, and their families, specifically spouses. The residents that we will work with have a range of needs, including those living with dementia, cancer, acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions and sensory impairments. Through the skilled use of music therapy, we expect to help people in the following ways: Providing a unique opportunity through music to develop new friendships and social connections Helping people to cope with the symptoms of an illness Significantly reducing the risk of isolation Enhancing mental and cognitive health A huge thank you to the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust for their support.
