Get Loud for Nordoff Robbins 5th May 2016 Get Loud Our inaugural Get Loud awareness day that will see some of the biggest names in music perform a series of exclusive intimate gigs on Tuesday 8 June 2016 along with fundraisers across the UK. Stars including rapper’s Tinie Tempah and Giggs, R&B star Katy B, performer/writer Alison Moyet, British Ska legends Madness, new wave band Squeeze, musician Leo Green, and punk duo Slaves have all pledged their support and will play a series of exclusive live sessions throughout the day which will be supported by SSE. Further names will be announced in the coming weeks. An online prize draw hosted by official ticketing partner Ticketmaster will open between 5-26th May, and people wanting to the chance to win a pair of tickets to see their favourite acts up close and personal will be asked to donate £3 to the charity. Successful entrants will then be announced on 27th May. We’re also calling for you to Get Loud in your own way; from putting on their own show, to hosting karaoke and music quiz events to raise crucial funds and awareness for Nordoff Robbins. “Music is a universal language and to be part of an initiative that is bringing people together in music on one dedicated day is something very special indeed.” Alison Moyet Julie Whelan, Chief Executive of Nordoff Robbins exaplins that “launching our first Get Loud awareness day is an exciting milestone for Nordoff Robbins. On the 8th June some amazing artists will be supporting Nordoff Robbins by performing a Get Loud gig and people up and down the county will be putting on their own fundraising event. Through Get Loud, we want to raise awareness of our life changing work and funds to help support the development of our services. Our goal is to ensure that more people in more parts of the county have access to music therapy. Music reaches people in a way that nothing else can, please join us and Get Loud for Nordoff Robbins!” Get Loud is sponsored by energy company SSE. As a Founding Partner, SSE will offer crucial funding, knowledge and expertise to support Get Loud, in its aim to boost awareness of Nordoff Robbins and its music therapy services across the UK, as well as support the charity’s regional expansion.
