Hellobands raising money for music therapy 6th September 2016 HelloBands, a UK-based online ticketing startup, has launched its promotional platform targeting live unsigned music and will be using the gigs to help us change more lives through music. Visitors to www.hellobands.com can search and discover hundreds of local events showcasing the latest talent, and are able to buy tickets direct from the artist. HelloBands offers a simple platform for creating and managing live music events. Promoters can authorise payment splits and ticket allocations for artists to share and sell direct to fans, whilst HelloBands handles all ticket admin and payment processing. A full range of features are provided to allow artists to promote their shows and track ticket sales across multiple channels. “Our vision is to simplify earning from live music events and support artists in the early stages of their careers” says Joel Armsden, CEO of HelloBands, who has worked with the likes of Ed Sheeran, James Bay, Ellie Goulding, Frank Turner, Jessie J, Bastille, and Passenger in their days of unsigned gigging. Features “We looked at ways we could make life easier for artists, and ticketing was an obvious first step. Unsigned acts are usually paid as a share of tickets they sell for a gig, but promotion is word of mouth, payment is cash in hand and attribution of sales is adhoc. They don’t always get paid! Gigging can be tough. Live music is a growing market, but one that has had little innovation over the last 40 years unlike the rest of the industry. So we built a service that provides artists with the tools they need to get paid and to make themselves visible to new fans, all on one secure platform.” Joel Armsden In a series of Hellobands launch nights, artists will take 100% of their sales with all other door revenue donated to Nordoff Robbins.
