Nordoff Robbins are very proud to announce our new provision in Wales, in partnership with the health board.

Music therapist Jo Humphreys is now based within ABMU  (Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University) and has already set up a series of pilot projects.

Jo said: “I am delighted to be joining ABMU to introduce music therapy to people who can really benefit from it.

The reaction of patients, families and staff has already been so positive and I’m looking forward to reaching more people as the service develops further.  In my work I am committed to focusing on potential, individuality and working flexibly through music to achieve the best possible outcomes.

I am hugely encouraged to know that these are aims shared by ABMU.”

The first music therapy pilot projects in ABMU are now under way in the Traumatic Brain Injury Service and Ty Olwen hospice at Morriston Hospital, the Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit at Neath Port Talbot Hospital and Hafan Y Môr children’s centre in Singleton Hospital.

ABMU arts in health coordinator Prue Thimbleby said: “We are so delighted to be able to offer this service to patients. There has been lots of great feedback already in the first few weeks. We are working closely with Nordoff Robbins on the further development of this work in the ABMU area.”
