Laura Wright and the St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir

Singing a variety of songs, old and new, sacred and secular, the St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir are joined again by their star guestLaura Wright, the nation’s sporting soprano and Nordoff Robbinsambassador on Saturday 20 February at 7.30pm. Also performing are young choristers from Downham Preparatory School, Norfolk.

The choir has a wide repertoire of songs from 1940s swing, Welsh hymns, spirituals, folk songs and material from musical theatre, to tunes from the charts. Besides performing locally in Suffolk, the choir has toured extensively both within the United Kingdom and Europe.

25 year old Laura has been one of the biggest selling classical artists in the UK this decade, having sold over a million albums. Her latest album, ‘Sound of Strength’, includes her own composition ‘Invincible’, which she debuted at the opening ceremony of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games, where she “stole the show” according toClassic FM. ‘World in Union’ is her most recent recording which she sang to open the Rugby World Cup 2015 Opening Ceremony.
