DUE TO OVERWHELMING VOTES FROM FANS, NORDOFF ROBBINS EXTENDS VOTING FOR THE TICKETMASTER BEST LIVE ACT AWARD

The Battle of the Bands is on – illustration by Michael Parkin sets the scene

With fans voting up a storm, we have extended voting for the Ticketmaster Best Live Act award to Monday night. With over 100,000 votes streaming in, just a small number of fan votes could make the difference – its game time!

Ticketmaster has teamed up with up-and-coming illustrator, Michael Parkin, to create a ‘battle of the bands’ illustration, showing some of the main contenders for the prestigious award.

Parkin’s illustration includes some of the hottest live acts in the world; One Direction, MUSE, Little Mix, The 1975, Rudimental and Bring Me The Horizon, all ‘performing’ on the same stage in an attempt to get their hands on the prize.

The Best Live Act is the only prize at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards voted for by the public. The full list of nominees for the Ticketmaster Best Live Act award is:

  • Adele
  • Little Mix
  • Muse
  • The 1975
  • Ed Sheeran
  • Bring Me the Horizon
  • Florence and the Machine
  • Catfish and the Bottlemen
  • One Direction
  • Rudimental

Fans can get behind their favourite act by voting now!

Before going to public vote, a panel of music industry experts selected the 10 most searched for artists who performed in the UK between March 2015 and March 2016. Previous winners of the award include Artic Monkeys, Justin Bieber, 2016 nominees One Direction, McFly and Sir Paul McCartney.

All ten nominees for the award hail from the UK for the first time ever, serving as a ringing endorsement for UK acts. Ticketmaster data shows that British acts currently make up half of the Top 20 highest ticket sellers in the UK this year.

In addition, the recent UK Music Wish You Were Here 2016 report found that 27.7 million people attended live events in the UK last year, with 10.4 million ‘music tourists’, making up 38% of the live audience. The report also states that the UK is home to the three biggest selling arenas in the world.

The winner will be announced at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards on Friday 1st July at the Grosvenor House.
