About us

Our team of music therapists work with nearly 1,000 people, mostly under 18, every year - in  schools, hospitals, day and residential centres, hospices and other settings in Scotland. We have four bases – Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife and Dundee.

Nordoff Robbins Scotland was founded in 1996, and has always had a very close relationship with sister organisation Nordoff Robbins England & Wales. On 1 October 2018 the two charities merged, to form one UK charity.

All music therapists employed by Nordoff Robbins in Scotland are required to have successfully graduated from one of the accredited postgraduate training courses in the UK and maintain registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Our music therapists also maintain membership with the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT) and have Personal Indemnity Insurance for their clinical practice. In addition, they all hold Enhanced Disclosure or are members of the PVG scheme through the Central Registered Body in Scotland.
