Trusts and Foundations Officer

What we can offer

Music, it’s in our DNA. We use the power of music to enrich the lives of people affected by life limiting illness, isolation or disability and we are the largest music therapy charity in the UK. We are Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy. Let’s face it, the last 18 months have been incredibly trying. Charities including us have found themselves in a whole new world of fundraising with our events income stifled and asks of any kind facing testing hurdles. But we have thrived on these challenges, and Nordoff Robbins is now looking for a Trusts and Foundations Officer to join our experienced, supportive Fundraising team to help us reach more people across the UK through the power of music.

We are NR
If you want to work at a charity with people and music at its heart, that is committed to providing an equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace full of inspiring colleagues who work tirelessly to put those it exists to serve front and centre of everything we do, if you want to work collaboratively with integrity, kindness and are willing to come with us on our adventures as we work together to come to work with strong backs, soft fronts and wild hearts, we may well be your next team.

Are you NR?
If you are values driven, courageous, curious, agile, flexible, enthusiastic and future focused (without losing sight of the here and now), if you can bring positivity and accountability to your work, if you strive for brilliance, challenges excite you and if you would speak with passion and dedication about our cause we want to hear from you!

What we are looking for

What we need:

Nordoff Robbins Trust and Foundations (T&F) Team currently consists of a Head of T&Fs, Senior T&F Manager and Senior T&F Officer. This new role will be managed by the Senior T&F Manager.

The Trust and Foundations Team is part of the charity’s Fundraising Department, which also generates income through corporate and partnership fundraising, individual giving and events.

The post holder will already have some experience of working in a development team and be keen to develop their fundraising skills, with a particular focus on trusts and foundations.

As well as managing and growing their own portfolio of funders, the post holder will enjoy a varied role, working with colleagues from across Nordoff Robbins and helping foster the fundraising efficiency and success of the Trust and Foundation team as a whole.

With the support and input of the Senior T&F Manager, the T&F Officer will monitor potential new funding opportunities and produce prospect research to facilitate new business approaches, as well as creating compelling funding applications and update reports.

The postholder will have a real interest and enthusiasm for Nordoff Robbins’ work which will underpin their written and face-to-face communications. They may attend and help organize meetings and project visits for prospects and supporters; and there will be the opportunity to volunteer at some of Nordoff Robbins high profile fundraising events (subject to COVID restrictions).

As well being a collaborative and valued member of the T&F team, the postholder will be self-directed, happy to work on their own when necessary and able to meet deadlines. They will have a good level of computer literacy, be organized and meticulous in tracking and recording their activities and be comfortable working with our CRM and project databases.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be musical, but you do need to be able to work cross-organisationally with colleagues in all areas of the charity from music therapists to the People team.
