The Culture

If you want to work at a charity with people and music at its heart; that is committed to providing an equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace full of inspiring colleagues who work tirelessly to put those we exist to serve front and centre of everything we do; if you want to work collaboratively with integrity and kindness and are willing to come with us on a journey as we work together and collectively come to work with strong backs, soft fronts and wild hearts, we could be your next team.

Could this be the place for you?

If you are values driven, courageous, curious, agile, flexible, enthusiastic and future focused (without losing sight of the here and now), if you can bring positivity and accountability to your work, if you strive for brilliance, challenges excite you and if you would speak with passion and dedication about our cause we want to hear from you!

What we need

About the role

The Trust and Foundations (T&F) Team is part of Nordoff and Robbins’ Fundraising Department. We generate vital income from Corporate Partnerships, Events Fundraising and Individual Giving. The fundraising directorate is currently a department of 16 colleagues and growing fast.

The Team consists of a Deputy Director of Fundraising, Head of Trusts and Foundations, and two Trusts and Foundations Officers. The advertised role will be managed by the Head of Trusts and Foundations.

You will bring at least 12 months experience with a development team (or similar) and are keen to build your skills, with a particular focus on securing four and five figure gifts from grant-making bodies.

You will be a good communicator with a flair for writing and a competent, friendly manner when meeting with internal and external stakeholders.

You will have your own portfolio of accounts to manage and grow and be comfortable working with funders from the point of identification, through cultivation to asking for money and providing great aftercare. A previous track record of putting together successful funding applications and update reports to meet funder criteria is essential, and a working knowledge of prospect research would be helpful too.

You will be computer literate, organised and meticulous in tracking and recording your work on our CRM system. You don’t mind working independently – are able to meet deadlines and motivate yourself to keep your workload on track – but you’re also someone who likes being part of a team, stepping forward with ideas and collaborating on shared initiatives.

If you like a varied role, are keen to take your next step in trust fundraising and have a real interest in and enthusiasm for Music Therapy and the difference it can make to vulnerable people, this could be just the job for you. You will need to be able to work cross-organisationally with colleagues in all areas of the charity to help bring awareness of our mission, vision and achievements to the world.

What we offer

The three best things about the job (in our humble opinion)

  • You’ll get to use your skills to make a real and positive difference to people facing significant challenges in their life situations.
  • You’ll be working with an experienced, committed, and ambitious team.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to manage your own portfolio and work with the team on a broad range of funding applications.
