Music Services
Our Music Therapy team delivers music therapy services across England, Scotland and Wales. Most of this takes place through our partnerships in the education, healthcare, social care and community sectors. Our music therapists work within our partners’ multi-disciplinary teams to support their clients. We also deliver services directly at our own regional bases and in community settings.
Education
Our Education team oversees the Master of Music Therapy (MMT) programme, which is delivered simultaneously in Newcastle, Manchester and London. We also offer a PhD research programme for established music therapists and other socially engaged musicians, as well as a portfolio of short courses. Tutors for all these educational activities are drawn from our team of music therapists.
Research
Our Research team’s role is to build a better understanding of music making as a social process by analysing the actions and responses of every participant, including clients, therapists, carers and staff. We encourage our therapists to engage with our research. We also collaborate with other organisations on research projects.
Income Generation (Fundraising, Events, Partnerships, Trusts & Foundations)
Our Income Generation teams work collectively to raise around £5 million a year, which funds our music therapy services, education and research. This involves partnering with trusts, foundations and businesses, delivering events, securing sponsorship and promoting digital fundraising. We work closely with our many passionate supporters in the music industry and beyond.
Communications and Engagement
This is the engine room in driving change to our brand and fundraising, showing the impact we have in society through music every day. We created this website and the brand. We make sure our client’s voices are heard and give our music therapists a platform. We might not be hands on in delivering music therapy, but our work has a huge impact.
People and Culture
The role of the People and Culture team is to nurture an honest, open culture and ensure that Nordoff and Robbins supports and develops colleagues in an environment of equity, diversity, inclusivity and belonging. We are responsible for recruitment and retention. That means finding the right people and giving them the tools and skills they need to succeed.
Finance and Operations
The Finance and Operations team supports our mission by providing financial intelligence and analysis, reporting externally on financial matters, and managing money coming in and out of the charity. We also provide our systems and technology, oversee compliance with rules relating to risk management and data security, and ensure that our premises remain safe and welcoming.
