The Nordoff and Robbins Master of Music Therapy (MMT) programme is one of only a handful of Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) approved qualifications in the UK that allow graduates to apply to register as a music therapist (a legal requirement for working in the profession).

Our MMT programme last two years and is validated by Goldsmiths, University of London. It’s a masters-level programme, rooted in the Nordoff Robbins approach, which emphasises practical and collaborative music making. We have training bases in London, Manchester and Newcastle.

MMT open evenings

Our open evenings are for anyone considering a career in music therapy – whether you’re a musician, a recent graduate or someone with a musical ear looking for a career change. You’ll meet your course tutors, find out how the MMT works day-to-day, and get your questions answered. We’re running both online and in-person sessions this autumn and in January 2027.

In-person – Manchester

Held at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), you’ll get a tour of the spaces where MMT training takes place, and a chance to speak with current tutors about the course structure and placements.
