Music Therapy Week – Schools

Music Therapy Week – Schools

Music can help with memory and learning. Listening to or playing music is a great way to engage pupils, no matter their age, background or ability. Plus, it can be really fun!

There are so many ways to get involved this Music Therapy Week, or anytime in April. You could…

Add some new songs to your morning assembly, encourage students to get up and sing, or invite a special guest to perform for the school. You may have some passionate musicians within your school who’d like to speak about their experience of loving, playing or writing music to inspire their peers.

Encourage pupils and teachers to dress up as their favourite musicians, take part in interactive music-making sessions, explore what music means to everyone involved. You could add some music themed games or quizzes to break time!

Showcase your school’s musical talents with a concert. Create original compositions or choose a theme such as musicals, different eras, or genres.

Use our downloadable resources to help the conversation around music therapy and its incredible potential. Display posters around school, send e-newsletters or post on your staff intranet or social media pages.
