Adult Afternoon Group

Music making for adults with learning difficulties

Apply now

Listen and be heard

This is an accessible group for adults with learning difficulties to come together to sing and play instruments in a fun, caring environment. The group’s members benefit from the uplifting power of social interaction and collective music making. They reap the rewards of both listening to others and being heard themselves. They’re also empowered to shape the group’s direction by making choices about the music they explore.

How does it work?

There are two Adult Afternoon Groups: one meets in-person and the other meets online. These free weekly sessions are open to anyone over the age of 18 with learning difficulties, and new members can sign up at any time.

In-person group

The in-person group meets at our North London music therapy centre every Wednesday from 2.30pm to 3.15pm. Family and carers are welcome to come along for support.

Online group

The online group meets every Wednesday from 2.30pm to 3.15pm via Zoom.

Before each session, we send out the joining link to attendees. Please note attendees must have another adult present in the room during the group to help with any technical, practical or safeguarding issues.

The group runs in termly blocks, each with a theme.
