Policy Position: Supporting people UK-wide
We support communities and individuals who would otherwise be unable to access music therapy services
Nordoff and Robbins works across England, Scotland and Wales. We are committed to providing services as locally as possible to ensure they are accessible to the people who need them most.
We support communities and individuals who would otherwise be unable to access music therapy services due to location, financial constraints and limitations on their ability to reach out. These include those who are homeless, have refugee status, or use community mental health services.
As well as providing music therapy services from our own centres, we work in partnership with local organisations such as schools, care homes, and hospitals. We also work with government, devolved governments, local authorities and other local partners to identify and respond to local need. In this way we can reach the people who need us most and ensure that the crucial role of music therapy is understood, recognised and acted upon by key decision-makers.
To increase the geographical diversity of tomorrow’s music therapy workforce and make music therapy more accessible across the UK, we have worked hard to make our masters-level music therapy training available across three cities in different regions of the UK: London, Manchester and Newcastle.
