Mariola’s story
Recently I have progressed into the Supporter Care Officer role within Nordoff and Robbins. This is a new position focused on retaining and maximising the support of our fundraisers and supporters across the UK by providing outstanding customer service. In the fundraising department, I am the first point of contact. I also look after individual and community fundraisers who want to support our mission. I work with different teams to provide a joined approach for engaging our supporters to grow, as well as retain the level of support that we receive. This is so that we can share the power of music with even more people who could benefit from it.
I love what the charity stands for: recognising the value of music for everyone, advocating for our service users and the benefits of music therapy. It’s great to work with people with a common goal who are passionate about improving access to music therapy. I love seeing the impact that music therapy sessions have, in addition to the difference we can make by providing music therapy to even more people. Seeing the amazing work that our music therapists do motivates me to go that extra mile with whatever I do. Our fundraisers and supporters are always so generous with their time and their support, which is always great to see. It is a pleasure to engage with and get to know supporters, as well as to hear how important music is to them.
At Nordoff and Robbins we share the same values and are all passionate about music. Although as an organisation we work across the UK, we always work closely and collaboratively towards the same goal. I appreciate the great level of clarity that we have at Nordoff and Robbins, with different opportunities to learn more about ongoing projects. Nordoff and Robbins actively encourages and supports us to do additional training to gain new skills. I have been at Nordoff and Robbins for over 3 years. During this time, I have found the place where I can grow, expand my interests and gain invaluable insights into supporter care.
