People’s Postcode Lottery
Players of People’s Postcode Lottery make a fantastic difference to charities and good causes across Britain. In 2022, Nordoff and Robbins was thrilled to become one of them, with a first-time Hero Grant of £250,000.
Nordoff and Robbins is unusual in that we run a postgraduate Masters in Music Therapy (MMT) course alongside our professional Music Services.
A new Hero Grant has meant enough funding to offer jobs to 10 of our newly-qualified MMT students on our Graduate Employment Scheme. And with additional music therapists we can expand the support we offer to vulnerable and isolated people now, and into the future.

We’re delighted that our new graduates have already provided more than 2,600 music therapy sessions in their first six months. This is at both our own centres, and with a range of partner organisations including mainstream and SEN (special educational need) schools, hospitals, care homes and day centres.
Thank you to all players of People’s Postcode Lottery!

Stephen's experience of music therapy with graduate Kate
Stephen's story
One of the people that has been helped by our graduates is Stephen. Stephen is living with advanced dementia and is a resident at Jewish Care’s Betty and Asher Loftus Centre. He has been having regular music therapy sessions with Kate, which has helped to give him agency in his life. Hear from Kate and Stephen’s wife Deborah about why music therapy has been so important for him.
