This four-day forum for music therapists offers a chance to immerse yourself in the Nordoff Robbins approach to music therapy and explore how our ethos could help inform your practice. With practical workshops that focus on musical techniques and awareness, and seminars that drill down into the underlying principles, the summer school takes place in a stimulating and mutually supportive atmosphere.
It was a fantastic course and I particularly valued the reflective practice and opportunities to make music with others. The tutors were excellent in the approach, knowledge and encouragement to ‘have a go’. Thank you!

Professional music therapists, either based in the UK or international, who want to develop their understanding of our music-centred approach and see how its principles might inform their work. The sessions are designed to be open, engaging and highly interactive, so participants should be open to sharing recordings of their work and taking part in live music making activities.
We recognise that circumstances vary in different parts of the world, and many countries do not have formal training courses or registration schemes for music therapists. The summer school welcomes practitioners who are engaged in equivalent work to a music therapist but who have not had the opportunity to train formally.

The summer school will be run by experienced Nordoff Robbins music therapists, and will be a lively and active event full of music making, discussion and sharing of points of view. All sessions will be run in English.
