Silverstone donates McLaren 570 GT4 in charity auction to support our vital music therapy work

The 2017 McLaren GT4 will be offered through a live online auction, giving motorsport enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to own an exceptional piece of racing machinery while supporting our vital music therapy work across the UK.

The race-ready car has covered approximately 10,000km and is running the desirable Trophy Map. Built around McLaren’s renowned 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, it is paired with a race-specification 7-speed transmission and comes equipped with Alcon brakes, an in-date six-point harness, Pirelli slick tyres, and a fully installed VBOX data-logging system.

The successful bidder will receive an exclusive ownership package designed to maximise their enjoyment of the car, including 12 months’ vehicle storage at Silverstone, an ARDS course, the mandatory qualification for those wishing to compete in UK motorsport, and an overnight stay at Escapade Silverstone, the circuit’s luxury trackside accommodation.

As part of its wider commitment to supporting communities and charitable causes, Silverstone seeks to use its platform, assets and influence to make a meaningful difference beyond motorsport. The donation of the McLaren GT4 demonstrates how the circuit continues to combine its passion for motorsport with a commitment to delivering lasting benefits for individuals and communities.

Nick Read, Chief Commercial Officer at Silverstone, said: “We’re delighted to support Nordoff and Robbins through the donation of this exceptional McLaren GT4. This auction offers motorsport fans a truly unique opportunity to own a remarkable race car while contributing to the incredible work the charity does every day. Supporting communities and creating positive social impact is an important part of Silverstone’s ESG strategy, and we’re proud to play our part in helping Nordoff and Robbins continue to change lives through music therapy.”

Sandy Trappitt, Director of Fundraising, Nordoff and Robbins, said: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Silverstone team in donating this spectacular McLaren GT4 race car to Nordoff and Robbins for our O2 Silver Clef Awards 50th anniversary auction. By opening this special lot up to an online audience in addition to those joining us at the ceremony, we hope to increase our chances of raising as much money as possible to help us continue providing vital music therapy and training future music therapists. We are incredibly grateful to Silverstone and look forward to the auction going live on Thursday 2 July.”

The O2 Silver Clef Awards is our largest annual fundraising event. Since 1976, it has raised over £17m, becoming one of the highlights in the music industry calendar. Across five decades, funds raised have played a key part in fuelling our growth from a London-based operation delivering music therapy to hundreds of people, to a nationwide organisation that supported 15,500 people through 48,000 music therapy sessions in 2025, partnering with over 300 organisations including schools, hospitals and care homes across the UK.
