Due to the latest Government restrictions on social gatherings, we have taken the decision to cancel the Big Busk on Saturday 26 September which was happening at Camden Market in London and Republic Bier Halle in Glasgow.

We’re sorry to everyone who was looking forward to coming down, signed up to busk and to the people who had helped put on this event, however we have taken this decision in light of the latest Government guidance about social distancing. Your health and well-being is our number one priority.

Thanks to Camden MarketRepublic Bier Halle and our sponsor, Guitar Guitar for helping us get to where we are – we will work with them to try and rearrange a date for later in the year or for 2021.

As a charity we receive no Government funding and rely on events like these to help us to continue our music therapy work. There are still so many ways you can support us during this time, whether it’s signing up to our newsletter, donating or telling people about our work, it is all hugely important to us – thank you.

Live music comes to the streets of London and Glasgow on Saturday 26 September

The Big Busk is a day of live music brought back to your streets with some of the most exciting musicians out there. And we’re giving you the chance to perform.

If you fancy your chances of playing at The Big Busk, all you need to do is complete the form belowYou’ll need to include an audition tape and if you’re successful, you could be putting live music back on the streets at one of our prime locations

COVID safety measures

Two iconic locations

During the pandemic music was everywhere we looked, connecting people from all backgrounds. Think of all the singing off balconies, Zoom choirs, new instruments learnt and the virtual concerts and festivals. That’s because making music matters, to everyone.

So whilst we still can’t go to our favourite venues and we work our way back to ‘normal’, we want The Big Busk to bring grassroots music back into our communities, helping to connect people by making music on the streets.

About the work of Nordoff Robbins music therapy

At Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, we use music therapy to enrich the lives of people affected by life limiting illness, isolation or disability. We see the benefits of making music every day. Making music can unlock memories, help to communicate where words have failed, to socially connect with family and friends, and to build confidence and self-esteem. We believe making music matters.

As a charity, we receive no direct government funding, which means we rely on fundraising events and the generous donations of our supporters. This year we expect to lose around 75% of our fundraising income, contributing to an anticipated shortfall in revenue of £6million.

Please consider donating
